Not, How Did He Die, But How Did He Live?

Not how did he die, but how did he live?
Not what did he gain, but what did he give?
These are the units to measure the worth
Of a man as a man, regardless of birth.
Not, what was his church, nor what was his creed?
But had he befriended those really in need?
Was he ever ready, with word of good cheer,
To bring back a smile, to banish a tear?
Not what did the sketch in the newspaper say,
But how many were sorry when he passed away.

Never think you are on your own
I`d never let you walk alone
When you`re down and want to cry
Let it out, let your tears run dry,
I watch and guide you everyday
So that you can find your way
And when you`re down and in despair
Just call my name and i`ll be there,
Right by your side through good and bad
But you need never feel sad,
Until it`s time for your journey home
Just remember you`re not on your own
We`ll meet again sometime soon
And we`ll be together, like the stars and moon.

When I have no one to turn to
And I am feeling kind of low,

I search deep within myself

A smile then appears upon my face

well remebered

I was shocked and very upset to hear that dear Peter East had been taken from us, i was a school friend from greenfield comprehensive in newton aycliffe, and we had some fun times in the group that we hung around in together, he was always very shy even then, i'm so glad he found happiness with his partner, Jim. My thoughts are with you now Jim and his family, i know he'll be very sadly missed, god bless you Peter, my love to you, see you in heaven, Mary x
